Land grabs threaten to destroy the fading dynasty
Plot
When the huge Lawson cattle station has no heir, rival factions across Australia see a chance to take control. The series was filmed in the Northern Territory and South Australia in places so remote they are barely inhabited, let alone shown on screen.
We really enjoyed this series
Locations include the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Kakadu National Park, with special permission from the traditional owners, and Tipperary Station, a real, working cattle station so big it has its own airport and school. Great actors.
Anna Torv is wonderful as a complex female adversary
We loved Robert Taylor in Longmeier, he plays a big, grumpy old man in a Western style. We loved her in Fringe but didn’t realise she was Australian because she lost her accent.
Same goes for Michael Dorman who was in For All Mankind
It’s really amazing how British and Australian/New Zealand actors can drop their accents and sound so American. It’s nice to have shows set in nature, rather than cities with concrete and constant violence.
I really hope there’s a second season
If you liked Yellowstone, you’ll like this one.
